Discussion on Family

A family is a group of people who are bound together by blood, law, marriage etc. live together. The members of the family are dependent on each other in the long term and every member has a specific role in the family. There is a total of 8 family structures which exist in society. Some of them are nuclear family, joint or extended family etc.
I was born and brought up in a nuclear family where my parents were there and my elder sister was 10 years older than me. This kind of family is the traditional family type of the modern era. According to research, children find strength in a nuclear family and typically have a bunch more chances because of the economic ease for both the parents. Financial stability gives more scope of opportunities for the children to grow in their lives. The caretaking habits of parents are more in the case of a nuclear family as they might dine more together, and go on regular vacations. It has been observed that children who grow up in nuclear families are emotionally sound and possess more good physical hygiene than others. This kind of family promotes autonomy as well. Children like me who grow up in nuclear families develop an individual value system for their families.
Apart from benefits, there are a few challenges also which are associated with the Nuclear family structure. As far as the first challenge is considered, according to me I did not have a chance to interact more with my grandparents, and relatives which is an issue. These people also play a major role in family structure. Also, I observed that during a crisis or emergency period in nuclear families it's quite difficult to get extended support.  Nuclear families tend to develop self-centred thinking among children which is not good for their personal growth. Besides counting the shortcomings, the nuclear family is still the perfect structure to bring a child up in his life.
